4 Week: Rewriting the Short Story

This class takes you beyond the first draft and helps you through the revision process to find a shapelier short story. Remember: rewriting is writing.
Before class begins, participants will submit a short story they have already written. We will read, and know, one another's stories. Each week we will do exercises designed to assist in learning more about your characters, the focus of your story, the balance of showing
and telling in your story, and anything else that will assist us. We will also set aside time to discuss the problems you're coming across and any rewritten passages you would like to share with the group. By the end of our session, everyone will turn in a rewritten short story and provide comments for each piece.
Just like with writing, rewriting is a process, and it's fundamental to moving forward with your craft. If you have a story you would like to focus on, come join us!
