Join us in the scenic mountain village of Grand Lake, Colorado, to immerse yourself in writing, sharing, and creative meandering for five days. Each day you'll be invited to attend morning writing workshops and afternoon activities, sit in on rap sessions, and read your work aloud at two night-time fireside readings. You'll also be free to wander around town, take a mountain bike ride, a long hike, or a pontoon cruise on Grand Lake.
Share a spacious room with a view of Grand Lake and delicious meals, as well as all the writing workshops you choose. Single rooms are available in town: check the Grand lake Chamber of Commerce for more lodging options.
This is a wonderful chance for you to forge a supportive and stimulating community, a collective spirit to help reinvigorate your writing voice. And a chance to work with excellent writers and teachers: Shari Caudron, William Haywood Henderson, Andrea Dupree, Chris Ransick, Michael Henry, Teague Bohlen, and more.
Details:
Shadowcliff Lodge, our retreat site, borders the Rocky Mountain National Park and the roaring North Inlet Stream. It's perched on an overlook above Grand Lake Village and the Colorado Great Lakes area. Intimate workshops and talks offered in fiction, poetry, memoir/essay, screenwriting, nature writing, storytelling, and other topics, all conducted by published, active writers and dedicated teachers. Nightly readings and social events. Engaging book discussions. Hiking, biking, boating and shopping are all nearby Great views of the Rocky Mountains, lots of wildlife viewing opportunities as well (deer, moose, and elk). You'll have lots of quiet time to write and reflect.
Workshops only: $425 (before June 1, 2008), $460 (after June 1, 2008)

Triple Shared Room: $275
(Meals are included in these room rates. If you're not staying at Shadowcliff, meals for the entire week are $150.)
